Review: LUSH Coalface Cleanser

29 Aug

This is an overdue review. I thought I already made one before. 😭😱 Β I should’ve posted this years ago. 😬 Dont worry, I can still remember my experience using this soap.😊✌🏻️ Unfortunately Im not good at remembering prices. I’ll just include the price range below.

What is it:
Coal Face is ideal for those of you who loving washing your faces with a good, old-fashioned bar of soap. Except, there’s nothing antiquated about this preservative-free facial cleanser. Inspired by the complexion bar in β€˜Annie Hall’, we created Coal Face for combination to oily faces. Powdered charcoal absorbs excess sebum and acts as a mild exfoliator, while rosewood and sandalwood oils reduce redness and clear up blemishes. Use Coal Face daily for clear, balanced skin.

Liquorice Root Decoction (Glycyrrhiza glabra) , Water (Aqua) , Rapeseed Oil (Brassica napus) , Glycerine , Coconut Oil (Cocos nucifera) , Sorbitol , Fragrance , Sodium Stearate , Sodium Hydroxide , Sodium Lauryl Sulfate , Sandalwood Oil (Santalum austro-caledonicum vieill and Fusanus spicatus) , Rosewood Oil (Aniba rosaeordora) , Powdered Charcoal , Sodium Chloride , EDTA , Tetrasodium Etidronate , *Farnesol , *Geraniol , *Linalool , Silver Lustre (Potassium silicate, Titanium dioxide, Iron oxides and Iron hydroxides)

– Cruelty free
– 120 grams will last for 3 to 4 months if used on the face only
– Not sensitive to changing temperatures unlike Fresh Farmacy
– Easy to store, doesnt melt easily.
– Can be used for the body
– Didnt cause initial breakout
– No sticky feeling after
– Didnt dry out my skin
– Skin feels clean after

– A bit pricey, 100 grams ranges from Php 400 to 500
– Leaves coal residue. The cottons I used for toning had black stuff.
– Has comedogenic ingredients; Coconut Oil and Sodium Lauryl Sulfate

This is a so-so product for me. It doesnt dry out the skin.😊 It doesn’t leave sticky feeling after rinsing which is what I always want for facial cleansers.βœ… I just wish it doesn’t leave coal residue. It’s not visible on the skin though. You’ll only see it on the cotton while you’re using toner. πŸ‘€

I have never tried this cleanser but have always been hesitant about using coal on my face. However it is worth a try and I like that it is cruelty free.
