Perfume Wish List

I’ve been a subscriber of Charles Gross on Youtube for a couple of months now. He’s living for perfumes. He loves to read magazines and gives his opinions on the brands and products. Most of the magazines he reads have perfume samples. There’s a folded section where you can smell the scent.

I was never into perfume but I think it’ll change soon. My sister loves perfumes. Me and my sister went to a coffee shop for breakfast. I got bored and chose ELLE from the rack while waiting for the rest of our orders. I was sipping a cup of coffee while going through the pages. That’s “bougie”. Haha.

There are perfume samples in that edition and oh my glob, I’ve never smelled anything similar to those scents. So they were added on my wish list.

Here’s an updated list:

D&G Light Blue

The Dolce&Gabbana Light Blue perfumes represent the aroma of sparkling summer days yielding to evocative evenings, of warm flesh and roused ardour. They describe a story in which man meets woman. The Designers are extremely proud of Light Blue’s legacy, which includes several perfume awards. Dolce&Gabbana Light Blue featured in an exhibition at the Museum of Arts and Design in New York as one of the century’s most groundbreaking scents.

Chanel No.5

The now and forever fragrance. The ultimate in femininity. An elegant, luxurious spray closest in strength and character to the parfum form. The sleek, portable signature bottle is perfect for the dressing table or travel.

Giorgio Armani Si

This luminous fragrance has been created for the modern woman who’s strong yet feminine, sophisticated yet charismatic. She embodies the very essence of chic Italian elegance and style. Sì Eau de Parfum is a modern chypre, reinvented with deep blackcurrant nectar, airy florals and musky blond wood. The scent is at first delicate, then lingers with mystery and later makes you remember her.

Ralph Lauren Romance

The women’s fragrance that evokes the timeless essence of falling in love. Discover the sensual essence of velvety woods, extravagant florals and seductive musk.

Spray on lavishly for a distinctly feminine sensuality.

I dislike fruity and sweet scents. I think I’m allergic to those. I had the worst colds when I smelled a fruity room spray. Most of the products mentioned above are gender-neutral in my opinion…. Although they’re in Women’s collection. I love the fresh smell like I just got out of the shower. It’s the only scent that do not cause me to sneeze.

If you can recommend other perfumes, please feel free share them.

  1. I bought the light blue before : it smelled wonderful when you smell it from the bottle, but it smelled horrible in my skin. The fresh lemon like scent turned into something really bad … i used it a couple of time and never again. Nasusuka ako after a couple of minutes.

The romance one was my signature perfume when I was a teenager. I loved it! It’s a flowery scent that I felt was perfect in winter time, because it has this warm side to it.

Maybe you can try marc jacob’s daisy or chloe signature. Because they are light flowery scent, not overbaringly sweet. Mabango siya pero di sila nakakasuka. Or even try mo yung cherry blossom na mga perfume from L’Occitane. They are a bit cheaper but they smell really nice and are not too strong. So these perfumes are a bit like the Romance one.

At if you try yung green tea perfume from L’Occitane, parang may hawig siya sa light blue kasi fresh siya.

Basta tip ko sayo, if you like something from the bottle, itry mo sa skin mo and see how it turns after an hour. ☺

Good luck sa perfume hunting mo!

    • I’m thinking of visiting L’occitane. Their fragrances and lotions are not overpowering to the point na masakit sa ilong. I should start there and see if we have one in the PH that’s similar to Romance. 🙂

      • Yes! Try mo sila! Plus when you use a perfum sa pinas, mabilis makasakit sa ilong kasi sa init. So if you opt for an eau de toilette mas ok, at wala yung suka effect 😄.

        Good luck!

  2. I’ve been into perfumes since last year and I haven’t found my signature scent yet. At first I also hated sweet scents but recently I have been forgiving them as night scent as long as they contain combination of orchids + tonka beans or vanilla. I figured out I’m leaning towards florals and woods especially for day scents. My first actual perfume was the Body Shop Cherry Blossom EDT which was given to me as gift by Mom as HS graduation gift. I ignored it till last year I brought it out again and been loving it till now. Whew it’s so old already and probably expired but still smells awesome. I love the Osmanthus + sandalwood smell.

I hate D&G Light Blue coz I dislike strong citruses and melon (I don’t know where this came from). I wore it once and it made me sneeze a lot. I took a damp rag and futilely wipe off the perfume then oddly the scent turned into sweet melon. Lol. Another reason why I dislike this so much is because too many people like this scent everybody seems to wear it. This is (and Bvlgari Amethyste and Incanto Shine) probably the only scent Filipinos wear in common places >__< Cheers!
