Review: Skin Potions Snowberry Sleeping Cream Mask

3 Aug

Have you heard about Skin Potions? It was one of the suggested people on my Instagram. I checked out their products and of course I had to start with their bestseller. I ordered a tub on BeautyMNL. Snowberry Sleeping Cream is raved by local bloggers. I saw a review with before and after photos. This product helped to lighten her dark spots. You know I’m all about that. Haha!

It costs 450 pesos for 50 grams. It smells like strawberry. I wanted to eat it when I smelled it for the first time. Haha! It comes in a pink plastic tub. I didn’t have a problem with leakage. The cream is thick and can be used as spot treatment too as seen in the photo below. I only need a pea size amount for the whole face. That size is enough to moisturize my skin. It also lighted some of my spots that were not deep. Meaning those spots in the epidermis layer only.

Now for the cons, I was hoping it wont trigger the areas where I have dermatitis (cheeks and forehead). Sadly, I always get itchy on those areas while I was using this cream. I dont want to waste this so I’m dabbing it on spots instead of applying on the whole face. Don’t overdo the application. It can make you look ghostly white whether you have fair or dark tones. I have pale skin and use this at night only. The active ingredients are on the label. That’s not enough for me. I need the full ingredients list. I cant find it online either. My tub expires in 2019. There must be a preservative in it.

Neutral, it claims to have SPF. The name is sleeping cream mask. So for me it’s automatic to use at night. Sunscreen can irritate skin if used while you’re sleeping. That’s the time your skin needs to breathe and repair. SPF is ideal for daytime.

Do I recommend this? Yes, for those who don’t have sensitive skin and not prone to intense hyperpigmentation. It wont be enough for those who easily get deep and dark spots like me. It is affordable, locally made and many people swear by it. It just didnt work on me. Here’s a tip. You can get it for a lower price during their bazaars and BeautyMNL sales.

Review + Before & After: NYX Above & Beyond Full Coverage Concealer in 03 Light

3 Sep

I wanted to try this for many years. Just wasnt sure if it was worth it. I was debating if I should get the Collection Lasting Perfection Concealer or this one. I was strolling in the department store again. Yup, dakilang tambay ako doon.πŸ˜… Collection’s stall was in another store. I got lazy so I picked this one instead. I expect a lot from cream concealers. Always go for cream concealers if you want better coverage.

Pros:
-Affordable, 360 pesos
-Has ingredients list on the label
-7g, big compared to other jar concealers
-available in many shades
-Little goes a long way
-Did not break me out
-No oxidization/darkening
-Not as oily as other cream concealers
-Medium coverage for my skin condition

Cons:
-Cakey
-Not good for textures
-Doesnt last the whole day for my oily and sweaty skin

Here are some photos taken using my phone. One without flash and the other was taken with flash.image

It’s medium coverage for me. I have to add a second layer for my dark spots. I can see that it’s cakey even if I also dab the second layer. I always wait for few minutes up to an hour before I go out so it’s settled down. It starts to look like skin when I blot with tissue. It has oxides but I’m glad it didnt oxidize/turn orange on me.πŸ˜ƒimageIt’s not as oily as other cream concealers. Unfortunately it’s not long lasting for me. I dont use primers but I tried other concealers that stayed on the whole day. Its finish leans to semi-matte. As for textured skin; it can emphasize textures like acne, dry patches and acne scars/dents. Wait for it to settle just like what I do if you’re planning to get this. It can look weird on sweaty skin. I’m very sweaty and it can settle to sweat forming like little circles. Be sure to dab tissue right away to avoid it.

It’s not the best concealer for me but it’ll do for now. Do I recommend it? I recommend it for normal to oily skin and if you dont need much coverage.

Have you tried this or any NYX product? My next target is Catrice cream concealer. If you have recommendations, please share it with us.😊
