Review: Aztec Secret Indian Healing Clay

Review: Aztec Secret Indian Healing Clay

Finally, I’ve tried the most raved mask in our country. Pinay beauty junkies swear by this product. You guys know that if something’s for acne prone skin, I gotta have it. It was out of stock in Healthy Options Bonifacio High Street. I went to their SM Aura branch and there are lots of stocks there! It’s like I’m in heaven. Hahaha! I was shocked when I saw the tub. It was huge!

DIRECTIONS / HOW TO USE (from their Website):

Mix AZTEC SECRET INDIAN HEALING CLAY with equal parts of apple cider vinegar* or water. It is best to use a glass, pottery, or wooden bowl. Stir the mixture until it is a smooth paste – add more clay or liquid as needed. Apply 1/8 to 1/4 inch thick layer of clay to the face or other areas and let it dry. Drying times vary, but times are generally 5 minutes for delicate skin and 15- 20 minutes for normal skin. You will feel a pulling and tightening sensation.

Remove clay by washing with warm water. A slight redness may appear after removing the clay. This is normal and will disappear in approximately 30minutes. AZTEC SECRET INDIAN HEALING CLAY helps to remove dirt and impurities from the pores of the skin. The clay is beneficial for deep pore cleansing of the skin.

Now you can enjoy the benefits of clay in your own home. One pound cf AZTEC SECRET INDIAN HEALING CLAY makes 10-15 clay packs. Clay can be used by the whole family men and women. Mix some up and FEEL YOUR FACE PULSATE.

NO ADDITIVES, NO FRAGRANCES, NO ANIMAL TEST NO ANIMAL PRODUCTS.

* Use only 100% apple cider vinegar. Raw is preferable Discontinue if rash appears. For external use only.

PROS:

  • Affordable, Php 429 for 1 lbs (454 grams)
  • Available locally at Healthy Options
  • Little goes a long way
  • Can last you up to a whole year
  • I didn’t experience redness after use
  • Saw an improvement on majority of my breakouts
  • Dried up some acne after one use

CONS:

  • Can be too drying

NEUTRAL:

  • Sometimes I can feel there’s too tight feeling

Put it in a plastic bowl and remember to use plastic or wooden spoon to mix it. Dont use metal spoons/bowl as it may affect the clay’s full benefits. I’m surprised that it’s very affordable. It’s a 1 pound tub that can last me for a year or even more. I have very sensitive skin especially now that I have dermatitis. I only use it once or twice a month for deep cleansing. I find that the clay alone is quite strong for my oily skin so I don’t use apple cider vinegar. I mix it with water only. I didn’t experience redness although it’s quite strong.

As for breakouts, I’m surprised that it dried out some acne after one use. From angry red bumps, they turned into whiteheads. They didn’t hurt anymore. Well of course I saw the effects the next morning. I highly recommend it for blemished skin. It doesn’t require rubbing so it won’t irritate your skin. It’s easy to take off with warm water.

Sheet masks don’t work in my opinion. That’s just for relaxing. Go for clay masks if you want something that’s effective.  This is the perfect product if you’re looking for affordable anti acne mask that can last for a long time.

November 2016 Haul: Yadah, SKINFOOD, Aztec Secret, THE FACE SHOP, Vaseline, Loreal

November 2016 Haul: Yadah, SKINFOOD, Aztec Secret, THE FACE SHOP, Vaseline, Loreal

Hi readers! I apologize again for being inactive. I’m currently using new skin care. I broke out again and needed to change my old routine. They take time, 1 to 2 months before I can post reviews. I’ve already reviewed three products in this haul.

Yadah Anti-Trouble Bubble Foam (100 ml) – Php 625
Yadah is a korean brand. I found out about it through local bloggers. They have skin care and makeup. I searched the ingredients of this and I must say they’re better than most drugstore and high end anti-acne cleansers out there. I’m using it for almost 3 weeks now. I’ll post my review when I reach the 4th week. This is available at all Beauty Bar branches.

SKINFOOD Yuja Water Ampoule in Serum (42 ml) – Php 900
Yuja Water is the latest line of Skin Food. I chose the serum type because I want my moisturizer to be watery and quickly absorbed. This has 30% concentration, highest compared to the other products in this line. I’m using this for 2 week now. I preordered this when it was on sale.

Aztec Secret Indian Healing Clay Mask (400 g) – Php 435
This mask is raved by skin care enthusiasts here in our country. They mix it with apple cider vinegar. I prefer plain water. I think ACV might be too harsh on my sensitive skin. I’m using it once a week. It’s very affordable. The tub is huge! And can last for a long time. It’s available at all Healthy Options stores as well as the Bragg ACV.

THE FACE SHOP Herb Day Cleansing Tissues (20 sheets) – Php 125
We ran out of makeup remover. I usually buy our makeup remover in department stores. It was out of our way. We went to High Street for dinner. The only option I can think of was The Face Shop. Full review here

Vaseline Lip Therapy Advanced Healing (10 g) – Php 69.75
An impulse buy that I’m thankful for. It’s the best lip moisturizer in my opinion. It instantly hydrates and chapped lips are gone in few minutes. It’s in a hygenic tube packaging. You can bring it anywhere. Full review here

Loreal True Match Liquid Concealer (7 g) – Php 300
This is my 2nd tube. I like that it’s lightweight and blends easily. It’s liquidy so expect that it’ll only give light coverage. I got it on sale for 300 pesos. Original price is 400 pesos. Once I’m done, I’ll try Covergirl’s Ready Set Gorgeous Liquid Concealer. Full review here

So what’s in your haul last month? Have you started your Christmas shopping? 🙂
