Wish List: Products for Oily & Acne-Prone Skin

Hi readers! I’m feeling festive since September! I’ve listed products that I’m very interested to try out. I’ll probably get them real soon. I’m in a “haul ban” because I bought a lot of stuff these past few months. I’m most interested in these products. I still have a long list. I just dont want to have a long post.

Most products mentioned below are specifically for oily and acne prone skin. I categorized them according to their use; cleanser, moisturizer, mask, spot treatment and sunscreen. The prices are included too in case you’re interested. 🙂

CLEANSERS

THE BODY SHOP Tea Tree Cool & Creamy Wash – P395
I saw this in their store last Christmas season when I got the tea tree facial wash and toner. I searched for reviews on it. Bloggers say that it really does not dry out their skin / no tight feeling.

SNOE Shoo-zit! Wash Away Those Zits Deep Cleansing Acne Wash – P349
I want to try this for SO long. It has few ingredients but some of them are antibacterial for acne like honey, salicylic acid, mulberry and Purefix. There are other cleansers that have few ingredients too but are useless and do not even clean the skin.

 MOISTURIZERS

LUSH Enzymion – approx. P1,200
I watched Lush hauls and their SAs recommended Enzymion for Youtubers who have oily skin. From the reviews, this cream mattifies the skin. It has cocoa butter, avocado oil and evening primrose oil. Hmmmm, I’m not sure about that. We’ll see if ever a generous SA will give me a sample.

LUSH Full of Grace serum bar – £8.25 (approx. P586.46)
A serum in a solid form? This is such an innovative idea in my opinion. It has 2 butters which aren’t really for oily skin but I still want to try it. Why? because it has calamine powder. Calamine powder is the main ingredient in my holy grail cleanser. Maybe I should get this when I’m older.. older meaning less oily skin. 😉 This is not available in the Philippines. I’ll order from the U.K. website if ever since they have cheaper price compared to our neighbor countries.

LUSH Vanishing Cream – approx. P1,500
They claim that this is their lightest moisturizer. Most youtubers who have oily skin love it. They said it sinks in quickly. It has witch hazel and rose water to calm the skin. But it has butter and oils just like Enzymion, Full of Grace and other Lush moisturizers. I hope I’ll get a sample one day before I can finally decide to get a full size pot.

BURT’S BEES Acne Solutions Daily Moisturizing Lotion – P1,450
I was randomly browsing an online shop and saw this. It has salicylic acid, willow bark extract and witch hazel. Those 3 ingredients are tempting me. There are also other ingredients that I’m not familiar with so I’m still skeptical to get a full size bottle. Why are the stores in the Philippines rarely give out samples? 😦

MARIO BADESCU Drying Mask – P1,145
I was looking for other face masks with calamine since I can’t get my hands on Lush’s Catastrophe Cosmetic fresh face mask. This one has few ingredients and it has what I’m looking for! It’s only 50g though.

SPOT TREATMENT

SNOE Shoo-zit! Dip & Dry Acne Drying Lotion – P449
This is like your Etude House and Mario Badescu spot treatment. The only difference is its affordability. You’ll get the same 20ml. Dip a cotton bud and gently apply it on the spots.

SUNSCREEN

VMV Hypoallergenics Armada Face Cover 30 – P815
My skin is so thin especially on the face. I get dark spots easily even if I dont touch blemishes. I have never used a sunscreen in my life aside from makeup’s spf. I know it’s bad. I’m skeptical to use one. My skin is not used to creams and  it can only handle up to spf 30. Based on the reviews, this VMV product doesn’t feel heavy on the skin.

My Top 3 Oil Control Moisturizers

Happy Sunday everyone! This week’s theme is about moisturizers. I tried a lot of creams, serums, gels and lotions for a few years now. I finally decided to make a Top 3 post. The products mentioned below are tried and tested on my extremely oily skin. My skin’s very oily when I wakeup. I based everything from applying them nightly and observing them the next morning and throughout the day. I included the price for your reference. 😊👯

Review: VMV Hypoallergenics Id Monolaurin Gel

It’s the 2nd day of the year. I really want to write and post reviews until the weekend before I go back to internship. Tonight’s review is from my september haul. It’s also included in my wishlist. 🙂

I like that they use soybean ink, shows how VMV cares for the environment. It’s in a dark blue plastic bottle.

 

Ingredients: Alcohol, Aqua/Water/Eau, Glyceryl Laurate, Glycerin, Carbomer, Triethanolamine.

September 2014 Haul

Hello ladies. Today is a shopping and derma day for me. I went to my dermatologist and had injections on my 8 huge pimples. I had a major breakout again this month because of stress and overthinking. 😦 Anyway, let’s start! 🙂

1. Etude House Baking Powder Cleansing Foam Moist – PHP 428
I wanted a new facial wash because I think my facial wash is not doing its job, my skin feels heavy. I remove my all-day makeup with cleansing tissues before I use facial wash. I found out that baking powder is a good cleanser. The normal version causes dryness even if you have oily skin so I chose this version to maintain the moisture of my skin. 😉

2. Etude House Dear Darling Tint in Red – PHP 248
I dont know why I grabbed this. My impulsive buying skill is attacking me again. Haha. 🙂

3. VMV Hypoallergenics Id Monolaurin Gel – PHP 795
I’ve been wanting to buy this for so long. I want to buy the 50ml bottle because I want to try it out and see if it will work. Unfortunately it’s always out of stock so I bought the full size instead. Let’s see if this will work well for me. 😀

4. Purederm Makeup Cleansing Tissues – PHP 119
These are in Lavender and Cucumber. It’s 119 for a total of 60 sheets. Been repurchasing this because it’s affordable. Im just waiting for the right time to review this. 😛

5. Etude House Pearl Aura Brightening Essence (sample) – Freebie
This sample is a GWP for every 500 worth of purchase. I will do a first impression post for this.

Review: VMV Hypoallergenics Red Better Spot Corrector

Im back again with another skincare review. Sorry I was busy with school works. This product was included in my wish list.

Im having breakouts because of health reasons. I need a quick solution to it so I bought this. 🙂

What is it?
“A uniquely non-drying acne balm made specifically for rosacea-related acne papules and pustules.”

Size: 8ml

Packaging: it’s in a plastic tube and comes with a glue-free box. Environment friendly, huh? 🙂

Price: I bought it for PHP 460. It’s a bit expensive for students like me.

Texture: cream type and sometimes runny when just got out of the tube.

Experience: dries pimple for about 2 to 3 days for small ones. 3 to 5 days for cystic ones. It can sting but I love the feeling! Hehe. My skin is extra sensitive and I easily get dark spots not matter what I do.

July 2014 Mini Haul

Im back! Im gonna post my reviews about these products after using them for 2 to 4 weeks.

Unfortunately, LUSH Fresh Farmacy doesnt really work on my skin anymore unlike before. I need to find something that has a great effect like what Fresh Farmacy did before. I also need a good toner for acne prone skin because this semester is stressful. I only use Celeteque Hydration Toner during vacations since I use little to no makeup at all.

I repurchased Maybelline Clear Smooth All in One Foundation and Purederm Makeup Cleansing Tissues. I feel uncomfortable when I do not double cleanse (makeup remover then facial wash)
