Review: Rucy’s Vanity Waterproof Liquid Eyeliner

Review: Rucy’s Vanity Waterproof Liquid Eyeliner

It’s been a while since I posted about eye makeup. I rarely buy products for eyelids because mine are so small. The only acceptable thing for me and noticeable is eyeliner.

I was looking at the bath and cosmetics section in a supermarket few weeks ago. I told myself I’m not going to buy anything. I changed my mind when I saw the kiosk of Rucy’s Vanity. It’s a korean brand with affordable makeup and skincare, if you guys didnt know. Range is from 80 ($2) pesos to 300 pesos ($6). Their liquid liner was on my wishlist so I had to get it.

Description:
7ml. Long lasting Water-proof eyeliner with deep black pigmentation that last whole day without smudging

Ingredients:
to be added later

Here’s the brush. It’s so thin but you can easily draw thick lines too.PhotoGrid_1471417029189-1

Pros:
-Available online and in-stores; department stores and supermarkets
-Affordable, 160 pesos ($3)
-I like simple packaging and no spills
-Long-lasting
-Easy to remove with makeup remover (it’s a pro because I’m a newbie in makeup)
-No smudge
-Thin brush applicator
-It’s easy to create sharp wings with this
-Perfect for monolids like mine

Cons:
-I dont think there’s any.

Testing it with water

PhotoGrid_1471346703301-1
I rubbed them thrice after testing with water. The 3rd photo above shows the results. There are some gaps but majority stayed in place. Who would actually rub their eyes when they have eyeliner on? Hahaha. Keep in mind that it’s easily removed with makeup wipes/remover. A plus for me because we’re all about avoiding fine lines.

Please excuse my messy brow. I cant do much with my monolid. I could draw the simplest line with it. 2 coats are enough to make it dark and cover everything. I have warts on the area so going through it twice fills gaps. It dries in a few seconds. I’m oily but there’s no smudging. It lasts the whole day too. No allergic reactions.

This is by far my favorite liner aside from the fork pen Yni-Picturesque. Its brush makes it easy to create thin and thick wings. The price is amazing too.  Just because something’s affordable doesnt mean it’s low quality. Here’s a proof. I highly recommend it. Next on my list: their BB cream and mascara. I’ll get them soon. Most of the time they have discounts. Check out their website rucysvanityph.com.

Or you can get them in-stores. Here are their locations. I got this personally from Rucy’s Vanity Facebook page.

April 2016 Favorites

A lot of things have happened this month. Stressful stuff but I still had time to switch products and use them all up. I’m going through my stash because I dont want to waste anything.

SKIN CARE

BELO Kojic + Tranexamic Acid
My skin got used to my holy grail cleanser. I took a break from it and tried this soap. My main problem is dark spots and I need to lighten them. I noticed this soap has Salicylic and Lactic acid for antibacterial and exfoliation. It’s too harsh for the whole face. I’m using it on breakouts only. Full review will be up soon!

COSRX AHA 7 Whitehead Power Liquid
My current spot treatment. It’s effective to turn my cystic acne into a whitehead/that stage when it’s healing and about to dry out. I think its formulation is too strong so I dont use it for big areas on the face.

MAKE UP

THE FACE SHOP Lovely Me:Ex Stick Concealer
I lack sleep these past few weeks and my undereye area became darker. I’m reaching for TFS stick concealer to cover my dark circles. It does the job and it’s not cakey.

ETUDE HOUSE Oh M Eye Line
I think I need a liquid liner with thinner brush. I’m just using it all up. I’m practicing how to do winged liner on my monolid. I’m getting the hang of it. This liner is good for beginners because it’s easy to remove. It crumbles and doesnt smudge when you remove it.

BODY CARE

JERGENS Hydrating Coconut
I love to use this at night. It smells so good and the scent relaxes me. It’s sinks in the skin quickly and doesnt leave sticky/oily feeling.

ACCESSORIES

ETUDE HOUSE My Beauty Tool Lash Curler for Monolid
I didnt know there’s a curler specifically for monolid. It grabs the lashes easier and curls them up effectively.

BEAUTY BAR Compact Mirror
Im confident to use this mirror because my flaws are not prominent when I look at it. It has two sides, regular and a magnified one. Nope, it’s not like in the department stores. Those mirrors at makeup counters are too magnified that they just show flaws. Haha. It’s their strategy too, I guess.

MUSIC

SS501 – Love Ya
I watched Boys Before Flowers again and finished all episodes in 3 days. I was focused on Gu Jun Pyo before. This time, I was into the character of Kim Hyun Joong, Ji Hoo. I missed his group SS501 after watching the drama. Love Ya is my favorite song. I started listening to it again everyday. Seriously, it’s my LSS. I still support their group despite his issues. I’m glad their sub-group SS301 performed this year.

2NE1 songs
2NE1 is my one and only favorite girl group. They changed the Kpop game to fierce and badass in 2009. The whole fandom of blackjacks were devastated on YG Entertainment’s statement. Minzy didn’t renew her contract and she’s leaving the group. I kept on watching their last performance as 4 members at Mnet Asian Music Awards 2015. We’re waiting for their comeback for too long while the other members are doing side projects. Maknae was kinda left out. No, I’m not blaming the girls. The management should’ve done something. This is the negative side of being an artist/celebrity, income and projects are not fixed.

So that’s it. Sorry this post has too much text. I need to reduce my ramblings.😂

Review: Etude House Lash Perm Proof Mascara – Washable

Review: Etude House Lash Perm Proof Mascara – Washable

Yaaay. Im back to blogging every weekend…. for good! Holy week is done. We did some fasting and took a break from things we enjoy the most. That includes the internet!

My sister was on a hunt for a mascara last week. We went to Etude House and she bought Lash Perm Proof Mascara Washable and other impulse buys. Haha. There are two types of this mascara. My sister picked the washable variant because she doesnt like the panda look after removing mascaras.

I’m basing this review on her opinion and mine too. I tried it on my lashes once for a whole day and here’s what we think

January 2016 Haul + LUSH Santa’s Belly Set Unboxing

January 2016 Haul + LUSH Santa’s Belly Set Unboxing

Most products in this haul are for replenishing my stash. Nagkasabay sabay pa. Lots of expenses this month.😭

image

1. SKINLITE Makeup Cleansing Tissues
I was supposed to get Etude House’s Every Month Cleansing Tissue but it’s out of stock! I visited 3 stores and had no luck. Good thing this is a great substitute.

2. ETUDE HOUSE Wonder Pore Freshner
I ran out of Lush Tea Tree Water. I wanted to go back to Wonder Pore because it feels like it gives better hydration although it has alcohol.

3. ETUDE HOUSE AC Clinic Daily Gel Lotion
I still have some left in my first bottle. I cant get the most out of it because of the glass packaging. Why cant they make it in a plastic tube instead so we can squeeze everything out?

4. LUSH Fresh Farmacy
Again, I ran out of this soap after 2 months. My HG cleanser and daily essential. Can’t function well without starting my routine using this.

5. LUSH Santa’s Belly Gift Set
The set includes Santa’s Belly Shower Jelly and Red Fun (100g each). Santa’s Belly Shower Jelly was on my wish list. We only have limited stocks here and it’s always sold out. I bought this gift set just to get it. I was on panic mode when they texted me that all christmas items are 25% off. I was so sad to find out everything was 50% off after a few days I bought this. Didnt get anything after because that’s too much. I’m not crazy about the holiday collection. I’ll just wait for their annual sale in 2017.

6. IN2IT Waterproof Eyeliner Pens
It’s a gift from my sister. We’re both practicing on doing winged liner. Hopefully this pen will make it easier for us.

What was your first haul this year? We’d like to know. Share the link below.😊

Review: Essence Superfine Eyeliner Pen

Review: Essence Superfine Eyeliner Pen

Good evening readers. Tonight’s quick review is about my first product from Essence and my second eyeliner pen. I bought this at a department store. I was looking for an affordable eyeliner pen and I thought this one fits that category.

image

Description:
The all-rounder amongst eyeliners! the super fine eyeliner pen is riding on the trend-waves straight out of the usa and asia! this extremely long-lasting precision eyeliner has a particularly slim felt-tip applicator ideal for creating fine, subtle eyeliner looks as well as extravagant and dramatic styles.

Ingredients
Aqua (water), Aloe Barbadensis Leaf Juice, Polyurethane-35, Styrene/acrylates Copolymer, Polyglyceryl-2 Caprate, Methylpropanediol, Glycerin, Butylene Glycol, Tri-c12-13 Alkyl Citrate, Caprylyl Glycol, Panthenol, Tocopherol, Helianthus Annuus (sunflower) Seed Oil, Stearic Acid, Palmitic Acid, Phenylpropanol, Tetrasodium Glutamate Diacetate, Citric Acid, Sodium Dehydroacetate, Ci 77266 (black 2).

image

Pros:
– Very affordable. I got this for Php 209 only.
– Available locally. You can get this at department stores.
– Beginners can practice applying eyeliner using this since it’s affordable
– No parabens

Cons:
– Dry and not pigmented. Im not sure if I got a bad one. The stocks for this eyeliner are unsealed. I tested this stock before I bought it and it was pigmented. I dont know what happened.
– Its tip didnt help me to have precise application. My lids didnt like its texture.

I dont want this to go to waste even if it’s just worth 209 pesos. I dip this in my liquid liner’s container and it works fine. It feels like Im back in the old times. Hahaha but in a girly way. 😉

Im disappointed with this product. Im hoping I just got a bad stock. You can still give this a try and see for yourself.  My next targets are the liners from Maybelline, Nichido and Shawill. They were recommended by my fb friends. 🙂

Have you tried this or any product from Essence? Share them below. 🙂

Simple Graduation Makeup (light to medium coverage)

Simple Graduation Makeup (light to medium coverage)

I just graduated yesterday, April 27, 2015. I still can’t believe I survived all the thesis and defense we had to go through since first year up to fourth year. College is over and we are going to face the real world now. 😊

I wanted to do my own makeup. I’ll feel sorry for the makeup artist if I had one because our call time was at 6am. It was so early. Hahaha. I like natural looking makeup without contours and blusher. Just plain makeup used on korean celebrities. 🙂

image

Tip:
– I allotted time for my skin to oil up before we head out to the venue. And then I dab tissue on my skin. I’ve observed my makeup looks better after I sweat or become oily. It makes my skin look more natural and not cakey.

Face
1. Prep skin, cleanse and moisturize. I waited for 10 minutes before I applied makeup. I want to make sure that the skincare products were absorbed in the skin
2. BB cream as the base. I used Holika Holika Cotton Pore Cover BB Cream. It is thicker than other bb creams which gives additional coverage for my dark spots.
3. Conceal dark spots & dark circles. I used my trusty Tony Moly Face Mix Cover Pot Concealer in 02.
4. Powder Foundation for more coverage and setting of makeup. It completes the coverage of my makeup to minimize those pesky dark spots. I used Maybelline Clear Smooth All in One Foundation in Natural shade.

Eyes:
1. Simple eyeliner style. I used Yni Picture-esque 3 Dot Liner for outlining. Because Im having a hard time to use liquid liners alone. Then I fill them using Etude House Oh M Eye Line in black
2. A little shimmer. I used Etude House Bling Bling Eye Stick in white and spread some of it on the lids and brow bone to give my look some glow
3. Curl and apply mascara. I used Cheek Room’s Curl and Volume Mascara for natural looking lashes.
4. Eyebrow pencil. I used The Face Shop Lovely Me:Ex Design My Eyebrow Pencil in gray

Lips:
1. Croquis Bulgeum Lipstick in shade 02

Review: The Face Shop Lovely ME:EX Design My Eyebrow

Review: The Face Shop Lovely ME:EX Design My Eyebrow

Happy Sunday everyone! It’s The Face Shop week on my blog. 🙂 Honestly, I don’t fix my eyebrows. Yesterday I had them fixed at the salon. So forgive me if my brows are not on “fleek” in this post. Haha.

So here’s the packaging:

image

I usually buy eyebrow pencils for my sister. She’s legit when it comes to this thing. I’ve bought her Tony Moly, The Face Shop and Etude House brow pencils. The only thing that she approved is The Face Shop because it doesn’t break unlike the two other brands mentioned. 😛

image

I got the shade 05 Dark Gray. I chose this shade because it’s not that intense compared to black and it will look more natural. Here’s my swatches. Excuse my face. I just cut my hair short yesterday and I look more like a guy. :)))

image image

Pros:

  • affordable
  • nice spooly
  • available in different shades
  • doesn’t break easily and not messy
  • not messy so it’s travel friendly
  • easy to blend
  • looks natural for me
  • lasts the whole day although I have oily skin

Cons:

  • None

I bought eyebrow pencils for myself too but didn’t use them. This is the first pencil that I’ve actually used. Haha. 🙂 Overall, I like it because it’s easy to use. It doesn’t break which means no mess at all.

Review: Etude House Oh M Eye Line

Review: Etude House Oh M Eye Line

It’s been a long time since I posted makeup reviews on Etude House. My pen liner is about to ran out so I bought this one which is included in my December 2014 haul. I noticed that EH prices got higher. I remembered this one was only 198 php before. Anyways, let’s start

The packaging is simple, no spills

image

I like the brush, it’s one of the thinnest for a precise application. 🙂

image

Here’s my swatch

image
Pros:

  • long handle for easier application
  • Thin brush for precise application
  • fairly priced (248 php)
  • one of the most affordable liquid liners with thin brush/applicator
  • doesn’t smudge if eyelids get oily
  • Long lasting though it’s not waterproof.
  • Wont give you the panda look or scattered mascara-like mess if you rub your eyes unintentionally
  • Pigmented, dont need to layer a lot.
  • Easy to remove (pro for a lazy girl like me hahaha)

Cons:

  • Not waterproof, which can be a turn off for some people.

Overall, I like it. For me, it’s challenging to apply but Im still practicing because I got used to pen liners. Btw, beware of fake items online and those which are out in the market. This eyeliner already has a fake version. Not just make up, even Korean skincare products are being faked too. Be sure to order/buy only on legit online shops and physical stores.
