First Impression: Flawless White Plus Cream

First Impression: Flawless White Plus Cream

I’m dealing with lots of hyperpigmentation. Flawless’ resident doctor recommended their White Plus Cream to lighten spots. She knows I have contact dermatitis. She said it’s difficult to cure my acne because of it. I agree with her. She only recommends superficial products like this which is risky for my condition. Total amount of products she recommended was 15k pesos. Oh hell naw. I wont spend that amount on anything I’m not confident with. I checked and felt skeptical because of the ingredients. I still bought one because it’s the most affordable in the list and I also have dry patches that need moisturizing.

– Simple plastic packaging
– Little goes a long way

Cons:
– Php 780 is quite expensive for a 15g tub

– Feels heavy
-Triggered my contact dermatitis

I used this for 3 days as spot treatment for dry patches and dark spots. It effectively moisturized dry areas. It’s a thick cream so you’ll only need a small amount. Once absorbed, it doesnt look oily. It’s more like dewy. My skin feel so soft when I used this. The packaging is sturdy and can be brought while you’re travelling.

Unfortunately, it triggered my contact dermatitis. I have rashes on sensitive areas mainly on the cheeks. It must be the lactic acid, emulsifying wax, peppermint extract or the fragrance…. Which reminds me of what a grandma would use. It feels a bit heavy. It’s not for commuting or other activities that involves sweating. This is ideal for night time on dry and mature skin. Its dewy finish makes skin look healthy. You can get this in their clinics and some SM Department Stores.

Skin101 Consultation + Pimple Injection

Skin101 Consultation + Pimple Injection

My breakouts were more than usual these past few weeks. I searched for clinics offering pimple injection. Skin101 has lowest price so far. I called my preferred branch to ask for the costs:

Doctor Consultation: Php 300
Pimple Injection: Php 50 per piece

The process was smooth. All I had to do was to fill up a form with my details. Then I waited for less than 5 minutes to get to the treatment room. An aesthetician did the procedure. If you’re not confident about that, you can ask their doctor to do it plus consultation fee. I didnt have problems because I was at ease with my aesthetician. She tells me everytime when she’s about to inject the solution. Thanks to her I was mentally prepared for every shot. Haha! She was very nice and didnt do sermon. May iba kasi pinapagalitan ako. Like hey I can’t stop my breakouts. This isn’t my choice.πŸ˜…

I’m writing this after 24 hours. All the cystic acne have subsided already. I’m satisfied with it and the cost did not hurt my wallet. It’s for cystic acne without pus, ideal if you just want to get rid of it fast or if you have an event the next day.

*Note that this treatment can cause depressed scars if the amount of IL is too much. That’s the risk you have to know.

Skin101 Market Market doesn’t have scheduled appointments. All clients are walk-in. I went there in the afternoon on a weekday. The clinic is usually packed on weekends. Doctors arent available daily so if you want a consultation, call your preferred branch first and ask for the sched. Phone numbers are listed on their website.

Review: Flawless Pimple Injection

Review: Flawless Pimple Injection

Good evening. This is another clinic service review. This is my quick remedy for cystic acne. I do not like to put spot treatment creams/gels anymore for those big ones because it will take forever before they’ll go away.

Im used to injections since I was a kid, but not for the face. I had my first pimple injection when I was in 2nd year college. I think that was 2013. I saw how convenient it was. You dont have to let the cystic acne stay for a week+ anymore! πŸ™‚

What to expect:
-Pricking and extraction of acne if it’s not in the skin.
-A little pain
-Acne will subside a few hours after.
-Acne will be gone completely in 24 hours or 2 days max.

Here’s my before & after:

image
Left- before the treatment ; Right- 2 days after

Pros:
– Available at all Flawless clinics
– The dermatologist was very nice and accommodating, had it done at SM Makati
– Quick solution
– Cystic acne will be gone after 1 or 2 days tops, for me.
– This one didn’t cause deep acne scar/pit.

Cons:
– Pricey compared before (new price is 150 pesos, old price was 100 pesos)
– Might cause deep scar IF applied too much (all pimple injections are like that, not just in this clinic)

I like how it works on me since I get occasional breakouts that are huge. If you are used to needles, then there’s no problem for you to try this one. My dermatologist at Makati Med Plaza also has this service for 100 pesos. But, their clinic’s cutoff is 6pm. If you cant make it and have this done at later time, I suggest your book an appointment at Flawless because their cutoff is 8pm. πŸ™‚

Skin Update: August 2014

Skin Update: August 2014

Hello readers. I posted my last skin update long time ago. I cant even remember it. Some of you guys are asking how’s my skin. So here it goes…

During summer vacation, I managed to lessen the dark spots on my face using 20% TCA Peel which I bought online.

Unfortunately I broke out real bad this July and August. Why? Hormonal imbalance and the #1 cause is Stress. There’s a lot of schoolworks and papers. It’s our senior year in college. You know how stressful it is.

What did I do? Pimple injection. I could not take my cystic acne so I went back to my dermatologist after a few months. My last visit was in December 2013 due to lack of money. *student probs* 5 cycstic acne were injected. (100 pesos per pimple)

After the injection, the cystic acnes were a little flat already. Im writing this 28 hours after the treatment and I can barely see most of them aside from the blood clots.

Hormonal imbalance is another cause so my dermatologist gave me Acneadvance Praventin. Im not sure how long will I take the pills. I took the first pill this night. We’ll see how it goes. I’ll review it soon.

So that’s it for tonight. Btw, I’ll compare my skin condition from 2012, 2013 & 2014 this December with photos. So watch out for it! πŸ™‚

Dont forget to comment your acne stories below. πŸ™‚

December 2013 Mini Haul + CorDerm Clinic review

December 2013 Mini Haul + CorDerm Clinic review

I was supposed to post this last December. Haha. Sorry if it’s late. πŸ˜›

I finally had the courage to visit a dermatologist again. It’s because I’ve read a lot of positive feedback on CorDerm Advanced Dermatology and Laser Center. I was nervous when the nurse called my name but I was relaxed because Dra. Corcoran was calm and very nice when I talked to her. She did not force me to buy any of the products and avail services. She understands that I’m still a student so I’m on a tight budget. She was accommodating and the nurses as well. πŸ™‚

She recommended these items. I didn’t buy the sunblock and the meds for balancing hormones. I bought these because I think they’re the most important. πŸ™‚

Good evening! I have a confession to make… I didn’t go to school for 2 days (first Thursday and Friday of 2013) because I’m lacking confidence again. It’s just that some of my classmates really notice everything. I’m afraid they would insult me. 😦

I wanna say sorry because I didn’t post any picture of my skin condition now.

You all know that my face broke out real bad. I had my facial at Dermstrata last Thursday. It was my first time to have a facial at a different spa/clinic. It removed the pimples but it left some ugly things. Β Ice pick scars and dark spots are left now. The icepick scars are deep & dark. :(. I never experienced that from my first ever facial spa, Suay Skin. I’m used to facials and pricking. The Suay Skin employee did a good job because everytime I had a facial, she pricked too but I swear, it did not leave any deep scarring like that. Maybe the Dermstrata employee has “heavy hands”.

One thing I like about Read more
