Review: ZENUTRIENTS Soothing Green Tea Glycerin Soap

Review: ZENUTRIENTS Soothing Green Tea Glycerin Soap

My dermatologist prescribed a glycerin-based soap which I ran out of. It’s quite expensive so I looked for alternatives that I can get at the mall. Zenutrients is first on my list. It’s one of the most well-known local brands today.

PROS:
– Affordable, 138 pesos for 100 grams
– Accessible, can be bought in Zenutrients kiosks and stockists
– Few ingredients
– Smells amazing
– Doesn’t melt easily
– Did not trigger my contact dermatitis
– Doesn’t leave film, greasy or sticky feeling
– Skin feels clean and fresh

CONS:
– None

The soap has translucent appearance like gulaman/jello. There are bits of green tea leaves on top. #Aesthetic. It’s very affordable for its size. I struggled holding it when it was new. Haha! I’m going to cut it next time. Zenutrients’ tip: keep the other half in a dry and cool place so its curing process continues. Water evaporates by doing that which makes the soap last longer.

It has few ingredients. Perfect for minimalists. My skin is unpredicatable with coconut oil which bothered me at first. Sometimes that oil is okay, sometimes it’s not. Thank goodnes this soap works for me. Now for the effects, I think it caused one or two pimples in the first week. My skin was adjusting but it did not happen again. It’s safe to use for sensitive skin. No redness and rashes. It has enough lather for my liking. No hot or heavy feeling as well. It’s not like other products where you’ll get intense heavy lather.

This did not prevent nor cause breakouts. It’s a maintenance soap for me. Overall, I like it a lot.โ˜บ๐Ÿ‘ I’m planning to try their other variants; Pure Glycerin (for extra sensitive skin) and Turmeric & Lemon. I observed all the dermatologists I’ve consulted to recommended glycerin soap. Probably because it’s mild and moisturizing. Get this kind of base especially if you’re sensitive or scared of irritations.

First Impression: Rucy’s Vanity Foam Cleansing Green Tea

I couldn’t end the week without talking about skin care. We have another fist impression post today. It’s for Rucy’s Vanity’s Foam Cleansing Green Tea. This also available in Aloe and Pomegranate.

I love green tea whether it’s just the scent, in food, drink or cosmetics. It’s one of my most favorite ingredients.

Pros:
-Very affordable, Php 130 for 100ml
-Simple packaging
-Easy to dispense
-It has aloe, vitamin E, licorice root extract and marigold (calendula officinalis) and collagen
-Green tea scent
-Little goes a long way
-Lathers well
-Doesn’t dry out the skin
-Easy to rinse
-No film/sticky residue

Cons:
-Has parabens

The consistency is light and creamy but it lathers really well even if you only use a pea size amount. I couldnt find the green tea in the ingredients list. I’m assuming it’s the scent? Because it does smell like green tea especially when lathers up.

Overall, I’m satisfied with it. It removes oil and I’m glad it doesn’t dry out my skin. It’s easy to rinse and doesn’t leave a film. No stickiness at all. I’d also get the other variants. I also like the packaging.. all their product packaging in general because you’ll know you are not only paying for a pretty design but the product itself works really well. You’ll get 100ml for 100 pesos only. I think it’s a great deal… Especially this week since this cleanser is on sale for 25% off. ๐Ÿ™‚

November 2014 Mini Haul

November 2014 Mini Haul

Hi. As promised, here’s my haul. I ran out of supplies. I had to replenish or even find an alternative. It’s difficult to find my cleansing tissues at Watsons so I wanted a new one. We went to Landmark Makati for a change. I found an alternative cleansing tissue. I also bought a spot treatment because Im out of budget if I buy VMV Hypoallergenics Red Better Spot Corrector again.
